No more death, no more tears or sadness, not even any pain: This is how John describes the New Heaven and the New Earth in Revelation 21:4. God will be with us, and we will be with Him forever! It's going to be so good and so beautiful.

We get so bogged down and discouraged by the world and there's a lot of fear surrounding "the end times." But we don't remember that in the end of the "end times," we will live for eternity in a perfect oasis of worshipping God and live in harmony with Creation.

Jesus said things would crumble. He knows that this is happening. But He also said to not be troubled about it. (See Matthew 24:6).

God keeps His promises, and we can be certain that He will do what He says. He said He will create a beautiful new heaven and new earth and the old earth will be destroyed along with all of the sin, anguish, and oppression. Revelation 21:1; Isaiah 65:17.

There are so many wonderful promises about our eternal future but I particularly like what Isaiah says, that the "wolf and the lamb shall feed together." Isaiah 65:25a. This is such a vivid picture of the complete eradication of every negative consequence of sin. Even wolves and lambs will share food!

Until the day that we get to be with the Lord for eternity, our purpose is to glorify God, share the Good News, and disciple others so that more people can be saved from an eternity of suffering. (Matthew 28:19, Matthew 24:14, 1 Peter 2:12).

Our purpose is not to live in fear, amass hoards of savings, collect a garage full of emergency supplies, or worry through one hundred hypotheticals. Being prepared is not inherently bad, but if we're trusting in our bunker more than we're trusting in God, that is sinful.

The best way to keep our eyes on the amazing plan that God has for us is to abide in Him: Read His Word, meditate on it, and pray for His perspective. The less we fill our minds with fear and hysteria over the evil of this world, and the more we fill our minds with His truth, we will have the right focus. Here are some verses to meditate on:

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid: be not afraid of him, saith the Lord: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand. Jeremiah 42:11

Say to those who are of a fearful and hasty heart, Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance; with the recompense of God He will come and save you. Isaiah 35:4 AMP

But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burnt; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:1-2

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25
